Böckmann Recommends Regular Maintenance for a Worry-Free Winter Break
Especially during the damp and frosty winter season, it is crucial to thoroughly inspect the trailer to ensure safe travel in the coming season. This is particularly important if the trailer is not used for extended periods. To prevent damage from weather influences, silicone seals, locking cylinders, and the braking system should be carefully checked for their condition.
Böckmann recommends storing trailers that are not in use on a covered parking space if possible. If this is not possible, the trailer should be parked at an angle so that water can drain from the roof and loading area and no waterlogging occurs. To prevent the trailer from rolling during the downtime, wheel chocks should be used. The handbrake, however, should not be engaged, as it can freeze in frost and cause damage.
For a professional inspection of the trailer structure and the implementation of the winter check, Böckmann authorized dealers are competent partners. Customers can schedule an appointment and have their trailer optimally prepared for the winter break.
